Subject Overview

Computers has become a large part of our daily lives. We use them to calculate, listen to music, read the news, communicate with our friends and family, enjoy leisure time and share data worldwide. The IT department in Largy College realises the many uses and actively seeks to equip students with the know how and digital skills to be able to effectively use day to day technology. Under the CMETB, Largy college uses the Microsoft Package and teaches students digital litearcy through Microsoft Word, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Teams and OneNote as well as educating students on internet safety. In Transition Year, students get the oppertunity to learning basic and more advanced coding while also giving students the oppertunity to praticipate in numerous competitions.
